WAYBE‑Sport Extremadura defeats Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Attackers 2‑1 in pre‑season opener

WAYBE‑Sport Extremadura opened its pre‑season campaign with a 2‑1 victory over Kaohsiung Attackers FC, the 2024 champions of Taiwan’s league and participants in the AFC Champions League qualifying phase. After conceding in the 8th minute, the Spanish side, coached by Juan Carlos Antúnez, rallied to equalise through Fatima López in the 35th minute and secured the win when Ana Herrera finished a collective move in the 70th minute.

The friendly, played a few weeks before the start of the official season, offered the newly promoted club a chance to test its revamped squad ahead of its debut in Spain’s Primera Federación. Club officials highlighted the team’s ability to respond to early setbacks, maintain defensive solidity and implement the style of play they intend to use throughout the campaign.
