Wayf Boys signs with Interscope following unconventional debut

The rookie group Wayf Boys has secured a deal with Interscope Records just one week after their debut. The five-piece group is introducing a concept dubbed ‘Nu K-pop,’ which intentionally deviates from traditional K-pop industry standards.

To differentiate themselves, the group has utilized unconventional marketing tactics, such as concealing members' faces behind illustrated characters and releasing unfiltered content that includes profanity and footage of members fighting. CEO and creative director Czaer stated that these actions are designed to encourage audiences to focus on the group's music and messages rather than their physical appearances. The group's debut single, ‘Wayf Boys Do,’ also features non-conventional behavior intended to signal their departure from standard idol expectations.
