Wayfair and Warby Parker report quarterly financial results
Wayfair Inc. reported second-quarter results that exceeded consensus estimates, with adjusted earnings per share of $0.95 and revenue of $3.52 billion, representing a 7.5% year-over-year increase. Following these results, several analysts, including those from BMO, UBS, Wedbush, and Wells Fargo, issued positive forecasts or raised price targets. In recent SEC filings, the Royal Bank of Canada significantly reduced its stake in Wayfair by 60.8%, leaving the bank with a holding valued at approximately $9.88 million.
Warby Parker reported second-quarter revenue of $235.5 million, an increase of 9.8% from the previous year. The company's adjusted EBITDA was $32.9 million. Growth was driven by retail sales, eye exam expansion, and higher average order values, which helped mitigate softer customer traffic. Warby Parker is currently preparing for the fall launch of its Intelligent Eyewear collection and continues to expand its physical footprint, having opened 15 net new stores during the quarter.
