These incidents, often involving sudden braking or unexpected vehicle maneuvers, have resulted in physical trauma serious enough to cause months of work absence.

Beyond safety concerns for staff, the absence of a human driver has led to significant cleanliness and maintenance issues within Waymo's robotaxi fleet. Reports from sanitation workers in San Francisco indicate that passengers have frequently left vomit, feces, and other waste inside the vehicles, particularly during weekend shifts. These incidents highlight a lack of passenger accountability in driverless environments.
