Wayne Long conducts pre-budget consultations in Saskatchewan

Canada’s Secretary of State for Finance, Wayne Long, is conducting pre-budget consultations in Saskatchewan to prepare for the federal budget scheduled for release this November. Long has met with various provincial stakeholders, including Canpotex and BASF Agricultural Solutions, to discuss economic investments and industry needs.

During his visit to Saskatoon and Regina, Long held roundtables with the small and medium business community, as well as agriculture sectors including canola growers and wheat boards. He emphasized the importance of gathering feedback from families, businesses, and various industries to shape the 2026/2027 fiscal plan. Long noted that the agriculture and potash industries in Saskatchewan are vital to the nation's economic growth and expressed a commitment to ensuring the province is represented in the upcoming budget.
