Wayne Rooney criticizes Manchester United players after Bournemouth defeat

Former Manchester United captain and record goalscorer Wayne Rooney has launched a scathing critique of the current squad following a 0-3 loss to Bournemouth. Speaking on the ‘Stick to United’ podcast, Rooney expressed frustration over a perceived lack of passion and defensive effort, stating that players appeared indifferent to their performance on the pitch.

Rooney questioned whether the current roster understands the significance of representing the club, noting that while he was not a perfect player, he always gave his maximum effort. He suggested he would want to confront the players directly in the dressing room to demand accountability for their recent form.

The defeat marks Manchester United’s eighth consecutive match without a victory. While fans at Old Trafford have voiced support for manager Michael Carrick, the club’s recent struggles include a 4-1 loss to Como in the Champions League, intensifying pressure regarding the team’s direction.
