Wayne Rooney threatens legal action against Andy Carroll

Former England striker Wayne Rooney is threatening legal action against former teammate Andy Carroll following allegations made in Carroll’s upcoming autobiography, ‘Owning It’.

In the book, scheduled for release on September 24 via Pan Macmillan, Carroll claims that during England national team training camps, Rooney would invite fellow players to his hotel room for beer and cigarettes to break the monotony.

Rooney has dismissed these claims as a “fabrication” and a “falsehood,” stating that he and Carroll never truly socialized. Rooney’s legal team has issued a letter to the publisher demanding a retraction of the statements. While Rooney expressed disappointment over the claims, sources close to Carroll suggest he will not be “bullied into changing his version” of events.
