Waze introduces new navigation features in Portugal
Waze is rolling out a significant update in Portugal, introducing several new features designed to personalize the driving experience and simplify navigation.
Key updates include the ability for users to manually select their starting point, allowing for more flexible trip planning that accounts for non-standard departures. The application is also introducing a “Less Talkative” mode, which reduces voice instructions to only the most essential information, minimizing distractions for drivers.
Additionally, Waze is implementing personalized route suggestions based on a driver’s historical preferences, such as a tendency to prefer highways over local streets. A new voice-activated feature called “Map Mate” allows users to report real-time incidents and map updates using natural speech, eliminating the need to interact with buttons while driving. The new voice features are currently available for Android, with an iOS rollout following.
