Wächtersbach officials debate waste contracts and pool services

Political tensions are rising in Wächtersbach regarding municipal services and budget management. The SPD faction has requested a comprehensive review of the contract with the waste disposal company Weisgerber. This move follows numerous citizen complaints regarding significant delays in bin collections and issues at the company's premises. The SPD is considering the possibility of an early termination of the contract if the company fails to meet its obligations.

Simultaneously, local political groups CDU and Freie Wächter have criticized Mayor Andreas Weiher for promising to maintain early swimming hours at the Wächtersbach outdoor pool. Opponents argue that such a promise is premature and populist given the city's precarious budget situation. They noted that a cross-party working group was intended to evaluate consolidation proposals confidentially before making decisions on voluntary municipal services.
