Extreme weather alerts issued for heatwaves and heavy storms across Spain, Mexico, and South America

Various regions are experiencing extreme weather conditions, including intense heatwaves and heavy rainfall. In Spain, AEMET has issued heat warnings for several autonomous communities, including Córdoba, Huelva, and Sevilla, with temperatures reaching up to 39°C.

In Mexico, the weather is highly volatile. The Yucatan Peninsula, including Quintana Roo, Campeche, and Yucatán, is facing heavy to very heavy thunderstorms and electrical activity due to the Central American Gyre and tropical wave 41. Additionally, Hurricane Polo is influencing weather patterns along the Pacific coast, bringing intense rain to states like Oaxaca and Guerrero. Chihuahua is also on alert for heavy rainfall with accumulations up to 75 mm.

In South America, Argentina is seeing a rise in temperatures due to warm air masses from the north, with some provinces reaching 35°C, followed by expected storms in the central and Litoral regions. In Ecuador, the INAMHI has issued warnings for variable intensity rainfall across several regions, including the Litoral and Interandine areas.

Other localized reports indicate cloudy and cool conditions in New York and Necochea, Argentina, while parts of the Mexican state of Nuevo León are experiencing high temperatures up to 36°C.
