Weather alerts issued across Latin America and Caribbean

Various regions across Latin America and the Caribbean are experiencing significant weather shifts. In the Dominican Republic, a trough is causing heavy rain, electrical storms, and wind gusts, prompting the Center for Emergency Operations (COE) to place several provinces, including Barahona, Pedernales, Bahoruco, and Independencia, under yellow alert due to risks of urban flooding and rising river levels.

In Venezuela, INAMEH reports increasing cloud cover and variable intensity rainfall across much of the country, particularly in Bolívar, Amazonas, and the Zulia region, driven by the Intertropical Convergence Zone. Similarly, in Colombia, Meteoguajira warns of increased atmospheric instability and electrical activity in La Guajira.

Other regional updates include: - Argentina: A cold front is bringing temperature drops and intermittent drizzle to the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area, influenced by El Niño. - Paraguay: Meteorology officials report that previously expected severe storms are losing intensity. - Honduras: A transition toward the dry season is underway, with decreasing rainfall in central and western regions. - Guatemala: INSIVUMEH predicts a reduction in rain alongside high temperatures reaching 35°C. - Peru: Senamhi continues to monitor localized light rains in Lima. - Ecuador: Heavy storms in Guayaquil caused flooding in 68 sectors and fallen trees.
