Romania and Moldova face significant weather shifts

Romania is experiencing a major weather transition characterized by widespread rainfall, increased wind speeds, and a significant drop in temperatures. The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued several warnings, including yellow codes for strong winds in Caraș-Severin and Timiș, where gusts may exceed 80 km/h.

Rain is expected across most of Romania, with higher accumulations of 15–25 l/mp in the Western Carpathians, Southern Carpathians, and Northern Eastern Carpathians. In high-altitude mountain areas, precipitation may transform into sleet or snow. Temperatures are set to decrease significantly, with some mountain regions potentially seeing minimums near 1 degree Celsius.

In Moldova, the weather remains changeable with cloudy skies and rain, including isolated torrential showers. A yellow code for dense fog has been issued, which may reduce visibility to 200 meters or less. While temperatures in Moldova remain relatively mild, between 15 and 19 degrees Celsius, the upcoming period will see increased humidity and periodic precipitation.
