Weather and infrastructure issues reported in Ushuaia and Zulia

Residents in Ushuaia, Argentina, have reported that a local hotel is discharging water onto the street at the intersection of Deloqui and Yaganes. This constant runoff creates dangerous ice patches during freezing temperatures, posing risks to both pedestrians and motorists. Neighbors expressed concern that the liquid may be wastewater, which would present additional sanitary risks. A near-collision between a private vehicle and an ambulance has already been reported due to the slippery conditions.

In the Miranda municipality of Zulia, Venezuela, a severe storm caused by tropical wave number 40 resulted in significant damage. The weather event included heavy rain, strong winds, and atypical hail. Reports indicate that homes lost roofs, coastal structures were destroyed, and streets were flooded by mud and water. The storm also caused extensive damage to the electrical grid, knocking down utility poles and leaving lines exposed in flooded areas, leading to power outages in sectors such as Nuevo Caimito and El Guárico.
