Weather and traffic incidents reported in Sonora and Lima
In Sonora, Mexico, recent rainfall has not resulted in road closures or major damage. Civil Protection authorities are conducting surveillance operations to monitor rising water levels in local rivers and streams to prevent incidents. While vehicle circulation remains normal across the state network, officials advise the public to avoid crossing rivers or areas with active currents.
In Lima, Peru, a high-clearance cargo truck became stuck under the Balta Bridge on the Vía de Evitamiento, causing significant traffic congestion in the south-to-north direction. The concessionaire Lima Expresa reported that the incident occurred because the driver attempted to pass under the structure without accounting for the maximum height limit. The vehicle was eventually removed by road assistance teams, clearing the highway. This incident follows several similar occurrences in the capital within the same week.
