Yemen and Egypt face weather alerts amid seasonal shifts

Meteorological authorities in Yemen and Egypt have issued weather alerts as the region transitions into autumn.

In Yemen, the National Meteorological Center has warned of thunderstorms and potential heavy rainfall across various mountainous provinces, including Lahj, Taiz, and Ibb. There is a significant risk of flash floods in valleys and wadis, and residents are advised to avoid open areas during storms. Coastal regions and the Socotra Archipelago may experience high winds and turbulent sea conditions, posing risks to fishermen and sailors.

In Egypt, the transition to the autumnal equinox is bringing a gradual decrease in temperatures. While some southern areas remain hot, northern regions and Cairo are expected to see more moderate, autumnal conditions. Authorities have noted the possibility of light rainfall along the northern coastlines and morning fog on major roads, which may reduce visibility.
