Weather conditions impact park access in Argentina and Costa Rica

Aconcagua Provincial Park in Argentina remains closed to the public in the Valle de Horcones and Quebrada de Matienzo sectors due to heavy snowfall in the high mountains. The Ministry of Energy and Environment of Mendoza implemented the restriction to ensure visitor safety amid hazardous weather conditions. Authorities have not yet set a specific date for reopening and will announce updates through official social media channels once weather conditions improve.

In Costa Rica, the Guayabo National Monument and Turrialba Volcano National Park have resumed normal operations following a preventive closure. The Ministry of Environment and Energy (Minae), through the National System of Conservation Areas (Sinac), announced that both sites reopened on August 26 after atmospheric conditions stabilized. Access roads are now clear and suitable for vehicle traffic.
