Weather disruptions affect local events in Argentina

Heavy rain forecasts and recent rainfall have forced organizers to modify several scheduled events across different regions in Argentina.

In San Rafael, religious authorities have suspended the traditional procession of San Rafael Arcángel due to unanimous weather forecasts predicting rain throughout the day. While the procession from the Nuestra Señora de Lourdes parish to the cathedral is canceled, other religious activities will proceed. The solemn mass, originally planned for outdoors, will be moved inside the cathedral at 19:30, presided over by Apostolic Administrator Monsignor Mancitelli. Additionally, the patronal folk festival (peña folclórica) has been relocated from the parish hall to the Colegio del Carmen gymnasium to provide a larger, covered space.

In Bariloche, intense rainfall on Friday afternoon forced the City Council to reschedule activities for the Youth Week (Semana de la Juventud). Organizers expect a full schedule of performances at the Centro Cívico plaza on Saturday, including a tribute to the band Virus by Fede Moura, a choreography contest, and a performance by the Tolkeyén folk ballet. The event will also feature a concert by Eugenia Quevedo y La Banda de Carlitos.
