Brazil weather: Heavy rain in south and intense heat in north

Various regions across Brazil are experiencing extreme weather shifts, ranging from intense rainfall and thunderstorms to severe heat and low humidity.

In the southern and southeastern regions, including Lages, Araras, and São Paulo, heavy rain and instability are expected. Lages faces a 100% probability of intense rain with volumes up to 81.22 mm, while São Paulo anticipates continued precipitation through the week, prompting Civil Defense warnings regarding potential flooding and landslides. In Paraná, Simepar predicts widespread instability and storms, with some areas potentially seeing accumulations near 100 mm.

Conversely, the northern state of Acre is facing a period of intense heat and dry conditions. A dry air mass is driving temperatures as high as 38°C in some areas, with relative humidity dropping to critical levels between 25% and 35% in the afternoons. Similar heat patterns are affecting neighboring regions in Rondônia, Amazonas, and Mato Grosso.

In Minas Gerais, Uberaba is expected to see clear skies and high temperatures reaching 33°C, accompanied by very low humidity levels of approximately 22%.
