Weather forecast: Fog and storms expected across New York regions

The National Weather Service has issued warnings regarding weather changes across parts of the Northeastern and Upstate New York regions. In the New York City metro area, Long Island, the lower Hudson Valley, and southern Connecticut, dense fog is expected to reduce visibility to below one mile, and potentially as low as a quarter mile, during the Friday morning commute.

Following the fog, a cold front is projected to move through Friday afternoon, bringing a possibility of showers and thunderstorms, including the potential for strong storms with damaging winds.

In Central New York and the Finger Lakes region, patchy fog is expected to clear by midmorning Saturday, leading to mostly sunny and pleasant conditions with highs in the mid to upper 70s. However, warmer and more humid air is forecasted to return on Sunday, bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms to the area.
