Weather forecast predicts wet transition as summer heat fades

Meteorologist Frank Deboosere has indicated that the summer heat has largely concluded, predicting a notably wet period in the coming months. He specifically warns that coastal areas may experience frequent and heavy showers. This pattern is attributed to the North Sea's relatively warm water temperature of approximately 20 degrees Celsius; when cold air moves over this warm water, the resulting atmospheric contrast can trigger intense showers and thunderstorms.

While temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius are unlikely to return this year, a late summer period remains possible, with sunny days in the low 20s potentially occurring in October. Short-term forecasts for Belgium indicate a transition through a rain zone followed by more stable conditions with temperatures around 20 to 22 degrees Celsius.
