Weather forecasts for Labor Day weekend show rain and rip current risks

Weather patterns across parts of the United States will remain unsettled through the Labor Day holiday weekend. In the Midwest, cloud cover and storm complexes are expected to bring showers and thunderstorms, particularly west of I-35, with the best chances for rain occurring Sunday morning and again on Monday. Temperatures are expected to remain somewhat cool and muggy until a cold front arrives Tuesday, bringing drier air and milder conditions for the remainder of the week.

Along the East Coast, specifically near Boston, the National Weather Service has issued a rip current statement for Sunday due to a high risk of dangerous currents at beaches. Sunday will see spotty morning showers with cooler highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Conditions are expected to improve by Monday, with sunshine and warmer temperatures reaching the mid to upper 70s.
