Argentina weather: storms, hail, and rising temperatures
Argentina is experiencing significant meteorological shifts as a cold front moves through the country. The National Meteorological Service has issued various alerts, including yellow alerts for storms in Tucumán, Catamarca, and Mar del Plata. These storms may bring heavy rainfall, electrical activity, strong wind gusts, and occasional hail, with accumulated precipitation expected between 20 and 40 mm in several regions.
Specific areas under alert include Mendoza, San Juan, San Luis, and Córdoba. In the Patagonia region, intense rains and strong gusts have been reported in eastern Santa Cruz and southeastern Chubut. While much of the country faces instability, a thermal rebound is expected in many provinces, with temperatures potentially reaching nearly 30°C in some areas following the passage of the cold front.
In the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), a gradual increase in temperatures is underway after an unseasonably cold period. While some isolated showers are expected, temperatures are projected to rise toward the weekend, reaching up to 27°C.
