Regional weather forecasts show temperature shifts and precipitation across East Asia
Various regions across East Asia are experiencing significant weather transitions. In Japan, Yamagata expects rain and potential thunderstorms, with cold rain and snow likely in mountainous areas due to a winter-type pressure pattern. Hokkaido is seeing a seasonal shift toward colder temperatures, with potential snow and wind expected later in the week.
In Hong Kong and Guangdong, the Observatory has upwardly revised temperature forecasts for early November. Due to strong El Niño effects, temperatures are expected to remain significantly higher than historical averages, with urban highs reaching 31°C.
In Taiwan, Hsinchu and surrounding areas are forecast to have mostly cloudy skies with temperatures ranging between 21°C and 28°C, with brief rain expected around November 2. Meanwhile, Okinawa remains mostly cloudy with light rain due to the influence of continental high pressure and cold air.
