Bahlil Lahadalia ranks among top performing Indonesian ministers
In Indonesia, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has been ranked among the top three ministers for positive performance according to a recent survey by Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO). The survey placed him third with a 32.0% public satisfaction rate, trailing Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa and State Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Bambang Patijaya, Chairman of Commission XII of the DPR RI, expressed strong support for Bahlil’s stance on downstreaming (hilirisasi) as a means to establish national sovereignty over natural resources. Patijaya emphasized that local regions must benefit from these industrial activities rather than just serving as observers, advocating for increased local employment, infrastructure, and the involvement of regional SMEs.
Other regional news includes weather warnings for Yogyakarta with potential haze in Sleman, water scarcity affecting 192 families in Kulonprogo, and a planned giant flag display in Depok to celebrate Independence Day.
