Weather shift brings heavy rain and cooling to Croatia
A significant weather shift is expected in Croatia following a period of stable, warm, and sunny conditions. Currently under the influence of Siberian and Azores anticyclones, the region is experiencing typical late summer weather with daytime temperatures reaching 22 to 26 degrees Celsius.
Starting mid-week, a Genoa cyclone will trigger a transition toward more unstable autumn conditions. This change will involve a shift to southern winds, increased cloud cover from the west, and a noticeable drop in temperatures.
Heavy rainfall is forecasted for the latter half of the week, particularly affecting the Adriatic coast. In the Rijeka and Kvarner regions, model calculations suggest significant precipitation, with estimates of approximately 74.6 mm for Thursday and 60.4 mm for Friday near the Omislj airport area. Thursday is identified as a key day for the transition, characterized by frequent rain and potential thunderstorms.
