Weather variations reported across Kashmir Valley and Karachi

The Kashmir Valley is experiencing a significant drop in temperatures. According to meteorological data, Shopian recorded the lowest temperature at 0.5 degrees Celsius, while Srinagar reached 3 degrees Celsius, which is below the seasonal norm of 3.7 degrees. Other areas such as Pahalgam, Gulmarg, and Anantnag also reported temperatures below their typical averages.

In Karachi, the weather is expected to remain hot and dry with maximum temperatures forecasted between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius. However, a surge in influenza cases has been reported in the city, attributed to dust and increasing air pollution. Medical officials at Jinnah Hospital and Civil Hospital noted a significant rise in patients, with some facilities reporting dozens of new cases daily. Experts warn that the influenza season has arrived earlier than usual, typically peaking in December and January.
