Web accessibility provides ROI through revenue recovery and market expansion

Web accessibility is increasingly viewed as a strategic business investment rather than merely a compliance cost. Beyond avoiding ADA-related lawsuits, accessible digital interfaces provide a return on investment through recovered revenue from customers who would otherwise abandon transactions, improved search engine and AI discoverability, and expanded market reach.

Data from the World Health Organization indicates that approximately 1.3 billion people worldwide live with a disability, representing over $1.3 trillion in annual disposable income. However, the WebAIM Million Report suggests that only a small fraction of the web is currently fully accessible, meaning many businesses are inadvertently excluding a significant portion of the global audience and their associated purchasing power.
