Web developer launches online directory for Canadian farm stands

Stephanie Bendo, a web developer and resident of Aldergrove, has launched a free online directory designed to help locals and visitors discover farm stands across Canada. The platform, localfarmstands.ca, aims to address marketing challenges faced by small-scale producers who may lack the time or specialized skills required for digital brand management and social media marketing.

Bendo, who manages a five-acre property producing garlic, honey, and eggs, developed the tool to solve visibility issues for her own goods. The directory allows farmers to manage their own listings directly to ensure privacy and accuracy, avoiding the use of automated AI generation. The service currently features listings in Aldergrove and British Columbia, with the ability for farmers nationwide to add their locations.
