Webike and Yamaha announce new service and electric scooter launches

Webike, operated by River Crane, is launching a new shipping method called ‘Rakuraku Shipping Service’ on October 1, 2026. Utilizing Japan Post’s ‘e-Shipping Service,’ the system allows users to trade in motorcycle parts and gear without handwriting shipping labels. Customers can complete procedures via smartphone or PC 24 hours a day and use a QR code to ship items from post offices or convenience stores.

In a separate development, Yamaha has introduced the ‘Gear Rev’ and ‘News Gear Rev,’ electric business scooters designed to succeed the combustion-engine ‘Gear’ model. These scooters utilize two detachable ‘Honda Mobile Power Pack e:’ lithium-ion batteries. The models feature a reverse assist function for easier maneuvering and are eligible for Japanese government CEV subsidies, which can significantly reduce purchase costs in regions like Tokyo.
