Webuild launches recruitment for Messina Strait Bridge project

Webuild, through the Eurolink consortium, has launched a significant recruitment campaign for the construction of the Messina Strait Bridge. Despite the project awaiting critical regulatory approvals, the company is actively seeking a wide range of professionals, including civil and mechanical engineers, administrative staff, TBM specialists, and safety inspectors.

The project's progress currently depends on two decisive steps: the approval of the definitive project by the Interministerial Committee for Economic Programming and Sustainable Development (Cipess) and the subsequent legitimacy check by the Court of Auditors. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport aims to complete these procedures by the end of the year to initiate the implementation phase, which includes executive design and preliminary works.

The updated timeline projects the bridge will open to traffic in 2034, following approximately seven and a half years of construction. Once completed, the infrastructure is intended to transform mobility and the productive fabric between Sicily and Calabria.
