Webzen to debut new strategy RPG at G-Star

Webzen has announced that its upcoming command strategy RPG, ‘Defense Game Tyrant: Last Stage’, will be showcased for the first time at the G-Star gaming event in Busan this November. Developed by Webzen subsidiary Webzen Crevix, the game is based on the popular Naver Webtoon IP of the same name.

The title aims for a 2027 release and features an expanded storyline that includes new episodes and character relationships not covered in the original webtoon or novel. Visually, the game utilizes Unreal Engine 5 for 3D environments combined with a ‘diorama pixel art’ style, where characters are handcrafted pixel by pixel.

Gameplay revolves around a structure of exploration, defense battles, and territory management. Players will focus on party composition and tactical deployment, managing roles such as tankers and dealers through direct character command. At G-Star, visitors will be able to play a demonstration version lasting approximately 15 minutes, which includes the game’s tutorial.
