Week Two of 2026 Women's Volleyball Nations League kicks off in Turkey, Philippines and Thailand

The second week of the 2026 Women's Volleyball Nations League began on Wednesday with matches staged in three host cities: Pasig City in the Philippines, Bangkok in Thailand and Ankara in Turkey.

In Ankara, hosts Turkey defeated Belgium 3‑0 (25‑14, 25‑13, 25‑23) with newcomer Melissa Vargas leading the scoring with 17 points. Brazil entered the week unbeaten and opened against France, while China and Germany also played in Ankara as the tournament moves toward its finals in China.

Bangkok saw Thailand face Ukraine in a five‑set thriller, falling 2‑3 (23‑25, 25‑19, 26‑28, 25‑22, 10‑15), leaving the home side still searching for its first win. Meanwhile, Japan remained unbeaten after beating Serbia in the Philippines, and Italy, the defending champion, prepared for matches against the United States and Japan later in the week.

The week’s 36 matches across the three venues kept the race for the Finals tightly contested, with each result influencing the standings as teams vie for qualification.
