Tourism festivals boost local activity in Argentina and Mexico

Several Argentine municipalities are promoting weekend tourism events. The capital of Catamarca expects a 45 % hotel occupancy for the long weekend, while winter tourism in Luján reached about 80 % occupancy and attracted roughly 282 000 visitors. Festivals such as the Feria Manos Catamarqueñas, the Festival Nacional del Limón in Tafí Viejo, the Fiesta Nacional del Pomelo in Laguna Blanca and numerous cultural fairs in Tucumán, San Fernando del Valle and other cities are drawing thousands of attendees and generating notable economic activity for local hotels, restaurants and artisans.

In Mexico, the HYROX Acapulco 2026 fitness competition anticipates more than 13 000 athletes and an economic impact exceeding 200 million pesos. Additional events include the Festival de la Gordita in Morelia, a series of adventure‑tourism activities in Chihuahua, and a nationwide gift‑card promotion by Howard Johnson. Chile’s Casino Marina del Sol in Chillán is hosting music shows and promotional offers. Together, these festivals and events are increasing hotel occupancy, visitor spending and cultural engagement across the region.
