Weekly Diamond to end print edition in 2027 for full digital transition

Diamond Inc. has announced that its economic magazine, Weekly Diamond, will transition to a fully digital format in April 2027, ending its 114-year history of print publication. The final print issue is scheduled for the April 3, 2027, edition, which will be released on March 29. Subscriptions for the print version will cease accepting new and renewal applications on September 30, 2026.

The move is part of a long-term ‘digital-first’ strategy. The company has been expanding its digital presence through Diamond Online, launched in 2007, and its paid membership service, Diamond Premium, established in 2019. By moving away from print, the publisher aims to overcome physical constraints regarding design and word counts, allowing for real-time delivery of scoops and in-depth reporting to meet the needs of business executives.

Following the transition, content will be accessible via Diamond Premium, which will offer full-page views of the latest issues and over 10 years of back issues. The magazine will also continue to be distributed through major electronic bookstores and subscription services such as Kindle, Rakuten Kobo, Google Play, and dMagazine. Additionally, the company plans to leverage first-party reader data to enhance its advertising and marketing solutions.
