Ween announces ‘Boognish Provides’ archival box set

The band Ween has announced a new archival box set titled ‘Boognish Provides’, scheduled for release on October 16 via Rhino. The collection features seven previously unreleased full concerts from the band’s 1994-1995 ‘Chocolate and Cheese’ tour.

The 14-CD box set captures a pivotal era for the duo, Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo, as they performed with a full backing band including drummer Claude Coleman and bassist Andrew Weiss. The recorded shows span various locations, including Santa Monica, Chicago, Minneapolis, Athens, Antwerp, Boulder, and Philadelphia.

In addition to the CD set, a condensed 2-LP vinyl edition will be available, featuring highlights from the seven shows. The release includes tracks from ‘Chocolate and Cheese’, ‘GodWeenSatan’, ‘The Pod’, and ‘Pure Guava’, as well as early versions of songs from later albums. To promote the release, the band shared a 24-minute performance of ‘Vallejo’ recorded at the 40 Watt Club in Athens.
