Weezer releases 20th studio album, self-titled Gold album

American alternative rock band Weezer has released a new self-titled album, also referred to as the ‘Gold album’. This marks the band’s 20th studio release and their first studio album since 2022.

The 32-minute record contains ten tracks, including singles such as ‘Shine Again’, ‘C.E.O’, and ‘We Might As Well Be Strangers’, the latter of which features the band Wednesday. The album features members Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell, and Scott Shriner.

While the album is described as a conventional rock project with some upbeat highlights, it has been noted for having a mix of optimistic themes and repetitive tracks. The release follows the band's long history of stylistic evolution, ranging from their early power-pop sound to more heavy or pop-rock leaning eras.
