The American rock band Weezer has released their seventh self-titled album, colloquially known as the Gold Album due to its metallic gold embossed cover art by Mike Jones. The 10-track project was developed over four months through brainstorming sessions in California.

Produced by Kenny Beats and Klas Åhlund, the album features a return to a more traditional rock sound following several concept-driven releases. Notable tracks include 'Say Yes', which explores themes of industry pressure, and 'CEO', which addresses the band's relationship with their legacy hits. The track 'We Might as Well Be Strangers' includes a guest appearance by Karly Hartzman of the indie rock band Wednesday.

Drummer Patrick Wilson has taken a more active role in the songwriting process, contributing to several tracks, including the single 'Shine Again'. The band is scheduled to launch 'Weezer: The Gathering Tour' on September 8th in Sacramento, California.
