Wei Dongyi's math textbooks generate over 1 million yuan in sales

Wei Dongyi, a mathematics associate professor at Peking University known popularly as ‘Wei Shen’, recently saw significant commercial success from mathematics exercise books he edited. The books, which include primary and junior high school math training materials, were listed on his Bilibili account and the official account of Longmen Publishing House.

Following a sudden surge in popularity after he updated his social media presence, sales of the two sets of books exceeded 26,000 copies within four days, generating estimated revenue of over 1 million yuan through his Bilibili shop alone. The books were marketed with slogans such as ‘Wei Dongyi leads you to learn mathematics.’

Peking University confirmed that the Bilibili account belongs to Wei Dongyi, and the publisher verified that he personally edited the series. Despite the rapid sales growth across various e-commerce platforms and social media channels, the product links were removed from his Bilibili shop on the evening of August 22.
