Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen hosts inaugural prevention conference

The Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district held its first prevention conference in Weißenburg to discuss long-term strategies for strengthening public health and developing targeted prevention services. Organized by the local health department, the event brought together representatives from politics, welfare associations, local health insurance providers, pharmacies, and various specialist sectors including youth work and self-help groups.

Sonja Schmitz, head of the health department, presented the objectives of the Bavarian State Ministry of Health, Care and Prevention (StMGP) Master Plan for Prevention. The plan focuses on proactive and sustainable health promotion to mitigate risks early and integrate prevention into daily life. Participants, including Deputy District Administrator Ingrid Pappler, emphasized that effective prevention requires coordinated efforts across multiple institutions and stakeholders.
