Ried, Bavaria pig farm fire kills over 1,000 pigs
A fire erupted on the evening of 6 August 2026 at a pig barn and an adjacent grain storage hall on a farm in Ried, near Augsburg, Bavaria. The blaze destroyed the barn, the grain hall and nearby facilities such as a heating‑oil tank and a grain‑drying plant.
