Weight management strategies for women aged 35-40

Women in the 35-40 age demographic are exploring various lifestyle adjustments to manage weight and waistlines as metabolism changes. Two notable approaches involve dietary patterns and sleep hygiene.

The “962” eating method, popularized in Taiwanese media, suggests a descending scale of fullness throughout the day: eating to 90% capacity at breakfast, 60% at lunch, and 20% at dinner. This “inverted triangle” approach focuses on prioritizing energy in the morning and reducing heavy or high-calorie intake in the evening rather than strict starvation.

Additionally, sleep quality plays a critical role in weight control. A study published in JAMA Internal Medicine indicates that increasing sleep duration can help overweight individuals reduce calorie intake. Research involving adults with a BMI between 25 and 29.9 showed that improving sleep hygiene and extending sleep by an average of 1.2 hours per night can positively impact weight management efforts.
