GLP‑1 drugs ease food‑noise while experts list natural appetite‑suppressing foods

Researchers and clinicians note that patients using GLP‑1 weight‑loss medications often report a reduction in intrusive thoughts about food, a phenomenon termed “food noise.” Dr. Robert Kushner of Northwestern University highlighted how the drugs can quiet these mental distractions, which can otherwise dominate the minds of individuals with obesity.

Separately, nutrition specialists identified several foods that naturally curb appetite, including eggs, legumes, high‑cocoa dark chocolate, fatty fish, almonds, avocado, apples and oats. These items work by providing protein, fiber, healthy fats or bioactive compounds that influence satiety hormones, helping people feel fuller for longer without replacing a balanced diet.

Both pieces underscore the broader challenge of managing food‑related thoughts and cravings, whether through pharmacological treatment or dietary choices.
