Weimar and Jena feature a series of summer music concerts
The city of Weimar hosted several free summer concerts in early June, including a vocal ensemble performance at the Oberweimar church, a gospel concert at the Jakobskirche, a solo evening by actor Marcus Horn, and a premiere by the DNT Weimar ensemble. The Classical Heritage Foundation also organized a UNESCO World Heritage weekend with tours, a tea ceremony, and a plant market.
In nearby Jena, the Jena Philharmonic presented a chamber concert titled “Flügel für die Jugend” on 14 June, showcasing student pianists from local music schools and performing works ranging from Clementi to Brahms. Tickets were available through the Jena tourist office and online.
Both events are part of a broader cultural program in Thuringia that highlights youth talent and community participation in classical and contemporary music.
