University of Patras launches Welcome to UP 2026 festival

The Welcome to UP 2026 festival is hosting a series of events to welcome new students to the University of Patras. In Messolonghi, incoming students will participate in guided tours of the Heroes' Garden and the Tricoupi Cultural Center, alongside local gastronomy tastings and a rock and art music concert by The 5MATES.

In Patras, the local commercial sector is participating through the Patras Commercial Association. Participating businesses will offer special discounts and privileges to students using their student IDs, identified by a specific Welcome to UP 2026 QR code. This initiative aims to integrate the student community with the local economy.

Musical highlights include a performance of ‘Apokopos’ featuring Ross Daly, playing lyra, tarhu, and rabab. The performance, based on early Cretan literature, will be held at the University of Patras Conference and Cultural Center.
