WELCON study of 5,000 massage‑chair consultations highlights five common buyer errors
WELCON Europe GmbH & Co. KG analysed roughly 5,000 sales‑consultations with prospective and actual customers for massage chairs in Hildesheim/Giesen (July 2026). The research identified five recurring mistakes made by shoppers: 1) judging the purchase mainly by price; 2) under‑estimating the importance of the massage‑unit technology (2D, 3D, 4D); 3) overlooking the buyer’s body size and ergonomic fit; 4) undervaluing ease of operation and program selection; and 5) neglecting after‑sales service, parts availability and maintenance. The study also found that professional advice frequently shifts buyer priorities toward ergonomics, build quality, and long‑term support rather than just features or cost. “Many customers start with technical specs or price comparisons, but a personal consultation quickly shows that individual needs are decisive,” said Stefan Iburg, founder and managing director of WELCON.
