Weld County teen arrested for road rage involving pellet gun

An 18-year-old man, identified as Jaime Rodriguez, has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated menacing following a road rage incident near Greeley, Colorado.

According to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, the confrontation began near Interstate 76 and continued for several miles toward Weld County Road 49. Investigators allege that Rodriguez repeatedly pulled in front of the victim's vehicle, slowed down, and blocked the driver from passing.

The situation escalated near U.S. Highway 34 and East 27th Street when the victim exited their vehicle. At that time, Rodriguez allegedly pointed what appeared to be a Glock 9mm handgun at the victim. Deputies later determined that the weapon was actually a .177-caliber pellet gun.

The Sheriff's Office has used the incident to advise motorists to avoid confrontations during aggressive driving encounters and to contact law enforcement immediately if they feel targeted.
