Well Dweller released by Top Hat Studios and Doyoyo Games

Top Hat Studios and Doyoyo Games have released Well Dweller, a dark fantasy Metroidvania action game, on September 23, 2026. Developed by Kyle Thompson and his team, the game features hand-drawn art and a fairy-tale aesthetic.

Players control Glimmer, a small bird using matchsticks as weapons, to navigate a kingdom ruled by an evil queen. The gameplay focuses on exploration, acquiring new abilities to access new areas, and battling creatures to save Glimmer's family. The title is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Critical reception highlights the game's accessibility for newcomers to the Metroidvania genre, comparing its quality to titles like Ender Lilies. While some notes suggest a relatively short playtime for completionists, the game is praised for its artistic detail and personality.
