Well Dweller released by Kyle Thompson and Top Hat Studios

Indie developer Kyle Thompson, known for Islets and Crypt Custodian, has released the dark fantasy metroidvania Well Dweller. Published by Top Hat Studios, the game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam and GOG, and is also featured on Xbox Game Pass.

Players control Glimmer, a small bird using a matchstick to navigate a decaying kingdom and rescue their family from an evil queen. The game has received high critical acclaim, with early reviews noting a Metacritic score of approximately 91 percent. Critics have praised its atmosphere, level design, and the contrast between its fairy-tale aesthetic and dark themes.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version specifically offers enhanced features, including higher resolution, improved textures, better frame rates, and a dedicated boss challenge mode.
