Wella Company files for US IPO to list on NYSE

Wella Company, the beauty firm behind brands such as OPI, Clairol, and Wella hair products, has officially filed for an initial public offering (IPO) in the United States. The company intends to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol WELA.

Supported by the investment firm KKR, which acquired a 60% stake in Wella from Coty in 2020, the company was previously valued at approximately $4.3 billion including debt. Wella maintains a global presence in over 100 countries and employs more than 6,000 people. Its administrative operations are spread across international hubs including New York, London, Geneva, and Calabasas, with a research and development center located in Darmstadt, Germany.

The IPO is being managed by a syndicate of major financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, BofA Securities, J.P. Morgan, and KKR.
