Wellington Arnaud and Guido Gómez Mazara campaign for 2028

Wellington Arnaud, a presidential pre-candidate for the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), held large-scale political events in the María Trinidad Sánchez province of the Dominican Republic. During rallies in the municipal districts of Las Gordas and El Pozo, Arnaud pledged to continue the administration of President Luis Abinader and modeled his vision after the legacy of José Francisco Peña Gómez. His platform includes creating municipal polytechnic schools and prioritizing investments in health, education, and family values.

Separately, Guido Gómez Mazara, president of the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel) and a PRM presidential aspirant, has called on government officials to increase their proximity to the citizenry. Mazara urged leaders to avoid arrogance and remain receptive to the population to ensure the party retains power in 2028. He also expressed concerns regarding national security, education quality, and the impact of removing tariffs on U.S. rice imports under the DR-CAFTA agreement, noting that the domestic rice sector requires stronger protection.
